Hey all, it’s been awhile! So while I have a little break from school work, I wanted to do a post. I actually took these pictures awhile back, so please forgive me if I can’t remember the exact products I used. >_<*
Anyway, since my last post was about de-sticking NYX JEP’s, I decided to do an FOTD, using two of my faves; Milk and Lemon.
Milk is looks just like it sounds – its a really Matte White. Lemon, on the other hand is a light green – they should’ve named it Lime, in my opinion.
Here’s the FOTD:
Forgive the hair, I did this late and night, right before going to bed. I remember using my Maybelline Emerald Smokes Quad on top of the NYX JEP’s and a little bit of MAC’s Sumptuous Olive on the outer two-thirds.
I’m also using falsies here, in case you didn’t notice! My lash application skills are getting quite better – I’m not a hundred percent perfect, but I hope I get there someday. :D
Here’s a shot where you can see my horrible eyebags and up my nostrils! Sorry for this, but I just really wanted to show-off my false lashes.
Anyway, I was finally able to take a break from school to check out the MAC Venomous Villains collection, and lemme tell you, my counter was almost sold out of products!! I did haul quite a bit (next post, hopefully), but I missed out on the Bite of An Apple blush – the only thing I really wanted. My MUA is saying that they’ve re-ordered and will be getting the shipment by the 15th. I highly doubt it though, since a lot of the products are sold-out online. :(
So, till the next time ladies.
Man, its been awhile! You can blame the usual suspects – school and work. Well, mostly school! As some of you ladies know, this is my last semester of college – three more months and I’m done!
Anyway, I bought my first NYX JEP, about a month ago and I loved it. I really didn’t have any complaints, until it came time to sharpen the thing!
I couldn’t find a sharpener the right size, and when I did – sharpening the JEP just took off too much product! So, I decided to look for a way to de-stick the thing. There are quite a few tutorial vids on YouTube, but I thought this particular method was the easiest. And here it goes;
First of all, you need a 5 gm pot or larger, preferably with a screw-type lid and your NYX JEP (I’ll be using Milk for this tutorial). Also, remove the cap at the end of your JEP.
Next, smudge the product protruding from the end of the stick into your pot.
Then, take your JEP and stick it upside down, on top of the smudged product.
Take the pot and the JEP and put it in a mug. Place this in your microwave (yes, I said microwave). Heat the product in one-minute intervals. Constantly check the product by lifting up the stick. If the product slides out completely, then you should be done. If not, continue heating.
The stick should be completely empty inside.
And here’s the finished product!
Hope you enjoyed the tutorial, and please don’t hesitate to ask me any questions.
I’ve already de-sticked/stuck :), 8 of these JEP’s and it gets easier every time! I’ll be showing you all of my NYX JEP’s with swatches for my next post. Till then, ladies.
So, while shopping for my latest MAC haul I came across MAC’s Sumptuous Olive Eyeshadow (Veluxe Pearl). At the time, I had second thoughts about purchasing it, but when I got home I ended up YT-ing it and doing some “research” on swatches and potential looks. After everything I saw, I knew I had to go back and purchase it!
Pictures of my haul;
MAC 224 Tapered Blending brush, NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Gold, and Sumptuous Olive Eyeshadow
MAC 224 up close, I love this brush! As you know, I’ve been planning to buy this brush for awhile and I’m really happy that I finally did. I’ve only used it once so far, but it’s really awesome for blending in the crease.
NYX JEP in Gold – this is my first one, but I’m loving it! It’s perfect for me right now, since I’m in my whole “neutrals” phase!
And finally, MAC Sumptuous Olive Eyeshadow! I love how this shadow has all sorts of awesome colors in it, Greens, Golds, Browns – I just can’t believe how beautiful it is.
Swatches: NYX JEP in Gold, Sumptuous Olive, and Sumptuous Olive with NYX JEP in Gold as a base.
I had a really hard time with capturing the true colors of this shadow on camera – the shade changes depending on where the light hits! I love it, I feel like I can create so many different looks with one eyeshadow.
All in all, I’m pretty happy with my recent purchase, but this might be my last haul in a while. :( My last semester of school is starting in a few days and I’m gonna need to make some expensive book purchases. One book alone has the price tag of about $200!
Once again, thanks for reading my blog ladies! Bye. <3
Call it maturity or getting old (blech!), but I’ve been quite obsessed with Neutrals lately! If you read my MAC eyeshadow haul post, then you probably noticed the abundance of golds, bronzes, and browns. Dunno what it is, even when I’m perusing the eyeshadows at my local MAC counter, I just can’t seem to stop staring.
So, here are the pics of my mug :)
And the eyes up close!
I just wanna put it out there, that I am far from an expert when it comes to makeup application – still learning, like everyone else. I would appreciate any criticisms, tips, etc. But please, keep it nice and constructive ( the best kind of criticism)!
I really suck at blending, so I’m hoping to purchase the MAC 224 Tapered blending brush, hopefully it’ll help up my blending skills.
Till the next post ladies!
I decided to take two classes this summer – one to raise my GPA, and one to fulfill a requirement.
I’m currently taking the “Easy A” class, and I’m enjoying it. I’m taking TA101- An Intro to Tagalog class, which I am fluent in. :D
So, one of our assignments for the weekend was to attend the yearly Santa Cruzan parade in one of the hotels.
Note: A Santa Cruzan is a religious procession celebrated in the Philippines during the month of May.
It was extra special this year, cuz my mom and my nephew were part of the event.
Here are some pictures:
Keith with my mom, Reyna De Las Estrellas (Queen of the Stars).
With me, sorry for the lighting – this was taken before the procession, mid-afternoon.
My classmate and fellow Accounting major, Markie. :D Haha, I just noticed I do the “bent arm” pose alot, ‘tis good for slimming the arms!
And here’s another one with Keith and my mom, during the actual parade.
So, on to the FOTD:
Sorry for the serious pose, I was trying to be model-esque. :P
I kept the look pretty simple, since it was blazing hot (100 degrees, I believe) and I didn’t feel like sweating all my makeup off.
I used my new fave foundie, MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC40 and MAC MSF Natural in Medium Plus. I also used MAC PeachTwist as my blush, MAC Cubic to Contour, and MAC Lippie in Made-to-Order (this is the first coral lippie I’ve ever had, and I love it!!).
I loved how the foundie stayed on during the whole event, despite how sweaty I was!! It’s too soon to tell, but I feel like I may have found my new HG foundie. So, I purchased the Studio Fix Fluid a few days before the event, and I was pretty stunned when the MAC MUA informed me that I was no longer an NC35 (Studio Sculpt), I was now an NC40! I wanted to protest, but something in me told me to trust this particular MUA. Thank God, I did – because I really love everything about this particular foundation (a review should be coming up soon).
Till the next time ladies!!
About three weeks ago, I commented on Lora’s blog post, expressing my desire to try Lush products. I had been hearing so many good things about Lush – especially the skincare line, but I couldn’t find a way to ship the products on island. Within a day, Lora replied to my comment and offered to ship me free samples of Lush. I was beyond overjoyed and quite amazed at how nice fellow bloggers can be. :D
We quickly negotiated through e-mail,and I offered to pay for the shipping price, about 4 dollars – which really wasn’t bad considering I was getting free product samples!!
So, the package finally came in today (early bday gift!) and I am so happy. :D
Here are the pictures:
The box my package came in!
(L to R) Fresh Farmacy sample, Blooming Bath Melt (bonus gift from Lora!), Vanishing Cream sample
I was surprised at the size of the Fresh Farmacy sample!
Blooming Bath Melt, this product smelled heavenly. :D
However, the last sample she sent me fell victim to the shipping gods!! :[
By the time the Vanishing cream reached me, it had become a congealed mess!
Overall, I was/am still amazed at the kindness of complete strangers. This is the very reason why, I started blogging – I wanted to use my voice, and I wanted someone to listen. Lora and I live thousands of miles apart, over oceans even. :D But somehow, through makeup, we were able to establish a bond. Thank you Lora, I will never forget this! So don’t be surprised if you receive something in the mail in return. :D
